PBS Safety Net information 2013

How Do I know if I reach the PBS Safety Net?

If you and your family always go to the SAME pharmacy, the pharmacy will keep the record of the medicines that you take. The pharmacist will let you know when you reach the PBS Safety Net.

If you and your family go to DIFFERENT pharmacies, you and your family will need to keep a record of your PBS medicines on a Prescription Record From yourself.

A Prescription Record From can be obtained from the pharmacist. Each time you get a PBS medicine, give the form to your pharmacist so it can be recorded.

PBS Safety Net information 2013

What is the PBS Safety Net?

If you or your family need a lot of medicines in a year, the PBS Safety Net helps you even more with the cost of medicines.

If you or your family reach a PBS Safety Net threshold, you can apply for a PBS Safety Net card. With this card your PBS medicine is less expensive or free, for the rest of the calendar year.

If you are a General patient, once you reach the PBS Safety Net, you will be paying $5.90 for each of your PBS medicines (Brand Premium excluded)

If you are a Concession Card-holder, once you reach the PBS Safety Net, your PBS Medicines will be Free. (Brand premium excluded)
